Show Choir Letter

The first performance for Show Choir will soon be upon us! We have been asked to be part of a massed choir for a special event for The Chairman’s Year of Music, and will be performing for Councillor Keith Chapman along with the Kingsclere Singers on Friday 14th October. There are so few rehearsals that it is very important that each member is present at all of them. If you know that you can’t make a rehearsal, please let us know at the earliest opportunity.

Wednesday 5th October

Thornden School, Performing Arts Department, Winchester Road, Chandlers Ford, SO53 2DW

We will have written to your school and asked for permission for your child to attend. If this is a problem, or the school decides he/she is unable to attend, unfortunately there is nothing that we can do. Children with permission will need to be at Thornden School ready to begin and in position to start for 1pm and will finish at 4pm. This will be the first time that all the Schools from across the County will have come together. Please make sure that your child has had lunch before they attend as we will not have time or facilities for a lunch break. Please make sure that your child has bottled water for the rehearsal.

Sunday 9th October – Show Choir Workshop day

The Mountbatten School, Whitenap Lane, Romsey, SO51 5SY

Rehearsal will begin at 11am until 4pm. As the event itself on the 14th Oct is not open to the public, we will be inviting parents to a showing at 3.30pm, this will not be ticketed.

Each child will need to bring a packed lunch and a bottle of water. We would suggest that they are wearing clothes they are comfortable to move in, as well as bringing their performance clothing as the showing to parents will be a FULL DRESS REHEARSAL. There will be time to change into this during the break.

The required clothing is as follows;

Black Shoes

Black Socks

Black Trousers

Black Shirt or Blouse

Friday 14th October

The Great Hall Winchester, Winchester Castle, SO23 5PJ

Rehearsal will begin at 5pm. This is the only opportunity to rehearse in the space and with the Kingsclere Singers. The performance is at 7pm and we aim to be finished by 9pm. Again, please make sure that your child has eaten before they attend the rehearsal and brings a bottle of water. Alternatively, we will be having a break from 6.30pm till 7pm where they would have the opportunity to eat a packed tea and get changed into their performance attire.

If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kindest Regards

Kerry
