HCYC November 2016 Update
With Christmas and our concert fast approaching, please take the time to read the information below regarding tickets, posters and a workshop day that is happening in January.
Christmas Concert
Tickets for our concert on Friday 9 December 2016 are already on sale through Thornden Hall in Chandlers Ford priced at ?8 for adults and ?5 for concessions. You can purchase them online at https://thorndenhall.ticketsolve.com/#/shows/873561512 or via the Box Office on 023 8024 6555. With the current number of members and capacity of the venue for the concert, it is roughly 3 tickets per member, so we advise you to book as soon as possible to get the tickets you want!
There are posters printed which will be available on Friday at rehearsal to help us advertise the concert. If you would like one, please ask Kerry or Jo Trotter.
All of the members will be learning a joint item for this concert. For those members who are in Show Choir but not in Youth or Training, you are welcome to attend either the end of Training Choir or start of Youth Choir to learn this piece, as we will only be recapping it briefly during Show Choir.
Dominic Peckham Workshop - Tuesday 24 January
The Music Service is kindly providing 50 places for this event. It will be a full day workshop involving schools local to Romsey and up to 50 members of Hampshire County Youth Choir. The event is open to all choirs and members, and spaces will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
Dominic Peckham is a Director of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and the Royal Opera Youth Chorus. His workshops are both vibrant and entertaining and a valuable experience for participants. The workshop will be taking place on Tuesday 24 January in the Main Hall at The Mountbatten School, Romsey. Further details will be sent nearer the date, including drop off and pick up points and accurate timings. The workshop itself will run from 9.00am – 3.00pm with a showing at the end of the day.
Transport will not be provided and members will need to make their own way to and from The Mountbatten School.
At this stage we just need to confirm our 50 spaces and which members will be attending. As this is a school day, we will need you to respond and reserve a place via the online booking form (link below) so that we can contact each member’s school and request permission for absence. Please complete the online form no later than Sunday 4 December to secure your place. Please complete one form per member. No response is required if you are not attending.
