Music for Youth - Birmingham

We are all very excited about our trip to Birmingham on 5 July…not long to go! Coaches have been booked, with pick up times as detailed below. We have received confirmation of our itinerary for each choir from the Music for Youth organisers, which is as follows:

06.50 - Coach pick up point for both choirs

09.50 on arrival report to MFY reception (Symphony Hall) to collect wristbands

10.30-13.30 - Seated in auditorium to watch performances

Festival Tent, City Centre Gardens

Lunch in the City Centre Gardens followed by:

14.45-15.45 - Massed Choir Vocal Workshop with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain

Coach departs from Birmingham

Please arrive in good time at the pick up point as you will need to collect a folder and organise your music on the coach. We need to leave at 7.00am and if you are late we will not be able to wait.

What to bring

· YOUR MUSIC - YC - O Nata Lux, Ubi Caritas, Unclouded Day, Panis Angelicus

· Packed lunch

· Packed tea

· Plenty of bottled water (drinks in a screw top containers please, no cans or glass bottles)

· Money for any merchandise/photos you may want to purchase

Please come adequately prepared for all weathers (e.g. coat, sun cream) – there will be a short walk to the Festival Tent in the City Centre Gardens. You will need to carry everything around with you all day so please do not bring any valuables or unnecessary items.

There will be NO CHANGING FACILITIES, so you will need to wear your uniform all day. Please make sure that you are the smartest you can possibly be! Clean and tidy hair, freshly ironed uniform, black socks/tights and smart shoes. Show Choir girls who are also in Youth Choir please bring your black trousers.

Photography, merchandise and tickets

Photographs will be on sale at the Festival and after the event. Official National Festival T-Shirts and other merchandise will also be available to buy on the day, or purchased in advance from http://www.mfy.org.uk/merchandise

We expect all other members of Show and Youth choir to attend the trip. If circumstances change and you are unable to attend, or you need to add / cancel a place on the coach, please advise us asap.
